A real romance movie.
So I just finished watching some random chick flick “romance” movie, and I’ve come to a conclusion, EVERY CHICK FLICK IS EXACTLY THE SAME!
Let me break it down for you:
Girl and boy. Girl starts out, not liking boy. Something happens that makes girl notice boy, although girl thinks “This will never happen”. Girl and boy flirt a little bit. Boy does something completley over the top that makes girl fall so hard for boy. They fall in like for a while. Boy does something to make girl not trust him ever again, but wait…it was all just a big miss understanding. Girl and boy fall in love and live happily ever after.
This is how EVERY modern day, chick flick romance movie is, and its complete bull shit!
All these movies do for us is what, say “oh I wish this would happen to me” “Oh I wish my life was like a fairy tale”
It shoves false pretenses into our brains, and paints us this beautiful picture of what were supposed to think love really is, and in the end depresses every teenage girl in North America.
If they really wanted to make a movie that would connect to young girls everywhere, their best bet is to make the following movie:
Girl meets boy. Girl falls head over heals for boy. Boy pretends to like girl, so he can get a peice. Girl bends over backwards to impress boy. Boy realizes he’s not going to get a peice. Boy breaks girls heart. Girl cries for days, and days, and eats a tub of ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the following weeks after getting her heart broken. Girl doesn’t trust any guys for a few months. After working her ass off repeating the same following steps, and years and years of heartbreak, girl finally meets the perfect guy. They fall in love, get married, have kids. After 26 years of marriage, girl finds boy in bed with his co-worker, Bill. Girl gives up, leaves her husband, leaves her kids, and moves to Hawaii, never to be heard from again.
That is the movie I want to see.
I’m terribly Optimistic, it kills me.
